AFS installs a new double tower activity centre at Illogan School

We are thrilled to announce the completion of a fantastic new addition to the playground at Illogan School: a brand-new double tower activity centre!

This project, a collaboration with the school's PTFA and Crofty Education Trust, is a testament to our shared belief that a vibrant and engaging outdoor environment is just as crucial to a child's development as the classroom itself.

The new activity centre is more than just a place to play; it's a hub for physical activity, social interaction and imaginative adventure. Designed with a variety of features, it provides opportunities for children to develop crucial skills:

  • Physical development: With climbing walls, slides and bridges, the centre encourages children to build strength, coordination and balance. The varied challenges cater to different age groups and abilities, ensuring every child can find an activity to enjoy.

  • Social skills: The open layout and multiple entry and exit points naturally encourage cooperative play. Children learn to take turns, share space and work together to create games and stories, all while building friendships.

  • Imaginative play: The towers themselves become castles, fortresses, rocket ships, or anything else a child's imagination can dream up. This type of unstructured play is vital for fostering creativity and problem-solving skills.

This new play centre is built from recycled composite plastic. This not only makes it an environmentally friendly choice but also ensures its longevity. The materials are incredibly durable and come with a 30-year guarantee against rot, giving the school peace of mind that this brilliant resource will be enjoyed by generations of students to come.

We want to extend a huge thank you to the staff and students of Illogan School for their enthusiasm throughout the project.
