AFS installs new basket swing at Chilsworthy Play Park

We are delighted to announce the successful installation of a new basket swing at Chilsworthy Play Park. This exciting addition is part of our ongoing commitment to enhancing local community facilities and providing safe, accessible and fun play equipment for all ages and abilities.
Unlike traditional swings, the basket swing (sometimes called a nest swing or birds' nest swing) offers a large, secure seating area, making it incredibly versatile:
Inclusive play: It allows children of varying abilities, including those who may need support, to enjoy the swinging motion.
Social fun: Multiple children (or a child and an adult) can swing together, promoting cooperation and social interaction.
Sensory benefits: The gentle, rhythmic motion provides excellent sensory input, which is beneficial for development and relaxation.
Behind the scenes: quality and safety first (and a little mud!)
The installation project was completed this week by our team. We always prioritise two things: durability and safety. The swing adheres to the highest European safety standards (EN 1176) and is built with robust materials to ensure it withstands the elements, and years of enthusiastic use.
A quick note: Despite the recent damp weather, the team pressed on! We appreciate your patience - it got a little muddy during the installation, but we’ve done our best to tidy up the area. Please take care around the base for the next few days as the ground settles.
Come and try it out!
The new basket swing is officially open and ready for play! We encourage local families to head down to Chilsworthy Play Park and give it a try. Maybe wear your wellies just in case!
We look forward to seeing the joy this new piece of equipment brings to the community.
