AFS restores playground equipment in Millbrook's tractor play park

Recently, our team had the pleasure of working with Millbrook Parish Council to give their beloved tractor play park a much-needed structural refresh.
As specialists in playground maintenance, we understand that timber-based structures require specific care to stay safe and durable. Our goal for this project was to extend the life of this community landmark while ensuring it remains a safe environment for imaginative play.
Our RPII-trained team carried out several key upgrades to bring the park back to its best:
custom tower roofs: We manufactured and installed new roofs for the play towers, providing better weather protection for the timber framework below.
enhanced accessibility: A brand-new ramp was installed to ensure smoother access for children.
compliance repairs: We performed a series of minor remedial repairs, tightening connections and refreshing timber surfaces to ensure the site meets BS EN 1176 safety standards.
At Academic Facilities Services, we use high-quality, play-grade materials that stand up to the coastal elements of the Rame Peninsula.
By choosing to repair and revamp existing equipment rather than replacing it, Millbrook Parish Council has made a sustainable choice for the environment and the local taxpayer.
