AFS repairs wooden equipment at Chilsworthy Play Park

The Academic Facilities Services team has been working on a project a little closer to home at Chilsworthy Play Park. To ensure it remains a safe and enjoyable space for everyone, we've been carrying out some essential remedial repairs.

​Playgrounds endure a lot of wear and tear from constant use and exposure to the elements. Over time, wooden components can begin to decay, compromising the safety and integrity of the equipment.

​We carefully inspected the playground, identifying all decayed timbers that posed a risk. We then removed the compromised sections and replaced them with brand new, play-grade timber. This specialised timber is not only durable but also treated to withstand the rigours of outdoor use, ensuring a long-lasting and safe repair.

​By replacing the decayed parts, we've not only restored the equipment to a safe and functional condition but also extended the life of the playground as a whole. It's incredibly rewarding to know that our work contributes to a safe environment where local families can continue to enjoy the play park for years to come.
